Lenovo Moto G and Moto G4 Plus are official, equipped with 5.5-inch screens, Snapdragon 617

There’s also a smaller, less powerful version called the Moto G Play coming to the States with a 2,800mAh battery. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 410 processor, has a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, water repellent coating, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front snapper and 16GB internal storage (expandable to 128GB via MicroSD.
Lenovo took to the stage this morning at an event in New Delhi, India, where it took the wraps off the latest generation Moto G smartphones. Unlike previous years, the Moto G is not a small, one-handed device. Instead, this year’s Moto G range features two versions and both are equipped with large 5.5-inch displays…
Both the Moto G4 and G4 Plus share a number of features, but there’s enough different about the ‘Plus’ model to justify its name. Starting with the similarities first: Both phones have a large, sharp 1080p screen on the front, making the jump up to full HD for the first time since the Moto G range was originally announced 4 years ago. They both also have the Snapdragon 617 chip inside to power them.
Both phones are equipped with a generous 3,000mAh battery and have TurboPower support which can supply 6 hours worth of charge from just 15 mins plugged in. Sadly, only the Plus model comes with a TurboPower charger in the box. Other shared features include the 5MP front facing camera and the operating system which, in this case, is an almost stock version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Turning our attention to the G4 Plus, and it’s clear that this is the high-end version of the range. Firstly, it’s equipped with a 16MP camera with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) and laser autofocus which combine to form Lenovo’s ‘Hybrid Focus’ system. Sadly, it doesn’t record 4K video but can manage 1080p.
This camera, according to Lenovo, has been highly-rated by DxOmark, and comes alongside a camera app complete with Pro-mode, HDR and the usual Motorola interface. In comparison, the regular Moto G has a 13MP camera on the back with 1080p video capture.
The G4 Plus is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the front, which the regular Moto G4 doesn’t have. Lenovo claims this fingerprint can recognize a finger, and unlock the phone in less than 750milliseconds. It’s slightly slower than the 600millisecond claim of the Nexus 6P, but you’re unlikely to notice in real life use.
The Moto G4 Plus will be available in three variants: 2GB RAM/16GB storage, 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The Moto G4 has 2GB RAM and either 16GB or 32GB storage. All of them are expandable via MicroSD card.

APPLE IS MORE CLEVER THEN YOU THOUGHT

Apple's latest innovation iPhone SE may not be worth queuing up for. Also, it is exactly not the first iPhone for price conscious consumers in India. But before you call Apple stupid for pricing the smaller SE more than iPhone 6 and almost at par with 6S, note that this iPhone may not be targeted at you.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has already acknowledged that smartphones with big screens are the future. But what happens to those who are unwilling to give up the comfort of using smaller but powerful phones?

There is hardly any smaller, 'comfortable' and powerful option available, of late. So, this is Apple's reply.

After using the iPhone SE for some time, here is our review.

Design and display

The iPhone SE is an exact clone of the older 5S. It is difficult to spot the differences as there's hardly any. However, it is slightly slimmer and lighter. The comfort of a smaller phone is something only stubborn users of iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5S users will reckon. There is still a substantial percentage of such users in the country and especially globally. Also, there are several iPhone 6 users who wants to go back to the smaller version. For them, the prowess of latest iPhone 6S in the body of 5S is indeed a special edition. However, this might put off many first time buyers, especially for the price.

On the display front, again there is no major difference. Everything looks good in the small screen with a resolution of just 1136 x 640 pixels. 3D Touch is absent in the iPhone SE. Overall, the display is crisp with good contrast and viewing angles.

The new Night Shift mode makes a huge difference in darkness. It puts less strain on the eyes. Night Shift is introduced in the latest iOS 9.3 update, the feature is not supported on all older 4-inch iPhones. While 5S supports it, 5 and 5C doesn't.

The SE version has a solid build and is sturdier than the newer versions. It is compact, lightweight and is made exclusively for one-hand usage. It is also available in Rose Gold colour.

Camera and performance

This segment is a major upgrade for older iPhone users. The iPhone SE has the camera of the 6S along with Live Photos. The 12MP rear camera is capable of shooting 4K videos along with slo-mo and time-lapse videos. There is a dual tone LED Flash at the back and on the front screen flashes to lighten selfies, like in the 6S.

Under good lighting conditions, the camera shoots good photos, but images shot under low-light without Flash will leave users desiring for more. While camera quality is good, it is not at par with the 6S or the older iPhone 6.

The iPhone SE is powered by the latest Apple A9 processor with M9 motion-tracking and PowerVR GT7600 graphics. The device is smooth and here are no glitches in performance. It might look small but it is not at all 'less powerful' than the 6S -- all iPhone users will vouch for this at least.

If you are into gaming on small screen, apps like Asphalt 8: Airborne run with ease. In short, it has the horsepower of the iPhone 6S.

The fingerprint scanner or Touch ID is included in the SE and it is fast. The phone is backed by a 1,624mAh battery. The battery life is slightly better due to a smaller low-resolution screen of the SE. Users can squeeze in one day in a full charge easily.

Verdict

The iPhone SE is the cheapest phone Apple has launched in recent years globally. However, Rs 39,000 for 16GB version and Rs 49,000 for 64GB variant are obviously over-priced. While the smaller iPhone makes perfect sense, the current pricing is a deterrent. Once, the re-imported iPhone 5S goes out of stock in India and also with the iPhone 7 launch, the prices of SE is bound to drop. The iPhone SE prices in India will simply help Apple to boost sales of the other existing iPhones for now.

The SE is just a matter of choice for people who prefer to use small screen and Apple doesn't want them to use old hardware to run new apps.

Google is making Android far more accommodating for people with disabilities !!!

Google is currently testing an Android app that will let you control some primary functions with only your voice, the company announced today. The accessibility software is called Voice Access, and it's designed to let people with disabilities take better advantage of core Android functions in a hands-free manner. It's in beta right now, and although the application period has ended, the company says it should be released as a free Play Store app at some point in the future.

The app will let you open apps, scroll with voice commands, and select items onscreen. "For example, you can say 'open Chrome' or 'go home' to navigate around the phone, or interact with the screen by saying 'click next' or 'scroll down,'" the company wrote in a blog post. It also incorporates a numeric system, so everything from apps to drop-down menu options will be assigned a number you can say aloud to perform a task. The improvements here should help Android to be more accommodating to any and all users. Apple's iOS has long included similar tools for people with vision, hearing, and motor skill impairments.

Google announced a series of other accessibility improvements across its product line. Developers can now run an Accessibility Scanner on their apps to get suggestions on how to improve them, with recommendations like enlarging buttons and increasing screen contrast for those with visual impairments. The company says it's also introducing a new version of its text-to-speech navigation software for Chromebooks, as well as bringing voice-based editing to Google Docs
